Do you poop? And Fart? Hey, So Do I!

November 5, 2013 By ARMOURELLE

It’s Nov. 5th and I vote for us women to stop trying to hide our un-girly smells! Here’s a snippet from a piece I wrote, up on MadameNoire.com. I’mma let it rip, yo!

There are plenty of products keeping us smelling good: Expensive perfumes, arsenals of Bath & Body Works seasonal hand lotions and $8 clinical strength deodorants in pretty packaging.

Add to that the new product Poo-Pourri. You might have seen the commercial. A proper, British woman perched on a toilet listing reasons why women are, or should be, embarrassed that their poop stinks. The commercial was compelling and hilarious enough for me to click the ad to go to the company’s website.

With over four million units sold, I obviously wasn’t the only person interested in this product. The stuff seemed like a miracle. Poo-pourri is a scented spray that layers into the toilet before pooing the poo (aka, having a bowel movement) and traps odors beneath the surface of the water, affording a clean getaway. No more waiting it out in the stall, and definitely no more wishing your boyfriend didn’t use the bathroom right after you came out from a lengthy visit to the porcelain potty.

Pro Nails: Pumpkin Spice Latte Inspired Nail Polish

October 13, 2013 By ARMOURELLE

‘Pro Nails’ is a new feature for my blog featuring my sister’s inspiration for her many Sally Hansen-fueled nail polish costume changes. Enjoy!

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Inspired Nail Polish #PSLThis year, I found myself anxiously awaiting Fall and now it’s here! Don’t get me wrong, summer is great, but who doesn’t enjoy hay rides, lightweight sweaters, beautiful foliage, and pumpkin spice everything?

There’s something about the crisp air that makes this season easy to love. My nail polish color was inspired by all things Fall–including Starbucks’ famous Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Oklahoma: The Things I Miss

  1. Having a college team. And really bleeding for it.
  2. Chick-Fil-a everywhere.
  3. Going ‘driving’ with no destination but Braum’s and back home.
  4. Eating without judgement. Things like lamb fries at the state fair*, smoked fried chicken from a food truck in the hood, and massive chili cheese burgers with a milkshake.
  5. The sound of locusts in the trees during the summer.
  6. The independence of the Cowboy spirit. The Americana of Country music.
  7. One tank of gas lasting forever because the land is flat for miles.
  8. Being tough and unafraid of puttin’ some elbow grease into somethin’ to git ‘er done.
  9. Businesses that still close on Sunday because customers (and employees) should be with familiy.
  10. Watching Gary England warn his audience of dark, heavy clouds as a prelude to the destructive winds of a tornado–with the front door open, looking out to see if the storm will hit at 6:17 p.m.**
  11. Those old, gravel roads in the country. Where cows and horses roam on acres of farmland, carved out from short trees and shrubery. Where a country girl’ll get out and walk barefoot in the middle of July. Where you can see every star in the sky, uninterrupted, on a clear night. Where I come from. Home.

*What are lamb fries?
**This is totally unsafe, and don’t do it. Most people I know (myself included) do this, though.
