Assess

April 21, 2010 By ARMOURELLE

Looking at the SELF and not the body and being honest with your SELF about what you have to share and what you lack ain’t easy.

A long time ago, a children’s church teacher went around the room and said, “You have a brown house, you have a brown house, you have a tan house, you have a golden house, I have a brown house.” I finally understand what she meant. It’s our housings that allow our SELF to interact/interlock with other SELFS (yes, “selfs” and not “selves”).

The SELF (or the spiritman) wants to serve God. The body wants to serve itself, and the mind is torn between the two… At least, that seems to be the case for me.

Feeding the Body

March 16, 2010 By ARMOURELLE

Thinking about the C.S. Lewis quote “You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body,” I thought about the various layers of it and how it fits with what I believe spiritually. I agree 100% with the quote and it resonated with me the first time I read it.

So, what comes next is a bit jumbled.

I am me. My body is a physical representation of ME or MY SELF and a means through and by which I, or my SELF, interacts with the physical world and other physical representations of various SELVES. I know how to feed my body. But, do I know how to feed my SELF? How do you do that? Is it reading my choice of spiritual text, engaging in fulfilling activities, interacting with other SELVES? I know—and more importantly understand—that I need bread, fruits + veggies, meat, water [and a small amount of junk food :) ] to feed my body, but do I understand how to feed my SELF?

Ideas & Thoughts welcome.

Don’t You Judge Me

March 3, 2010 By ARMOURELLE

I’m a writer, but I don’t feel the need to post lengthy, uniformly square blocks of prose that no one will read but me. My style is long-winded and snappy. Does that make sense? Sure, it does. I got burned out the long form stuff two years ago higher education.
