Pro Nails: Olivia Pope Runs It and These Nails Do Too

November 8, 2013 By ARMOURELLE

Commander in Chic Salon ManicureWho doesn’t love the TV show Scandal?

Inspired by Olivia Pope’s love of chic neutrals, here is the color that started it all: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic. This color is a nice transition for fall, before the deep jewel tones of the Holiday season.

This color began my love affair with the Salon Manicure nail color line. It doesn’t chip, it goes on smooth and the color selection is great.

Pro Nails: Pumpkin Spice Latte Inspired Nail Polish

October 13, 2013 By ARMOURELLE

‘Pro Nails’ is a new feature for my blog featuring my sister’s inspiration for her many Sally Hansen-fueled nail polish costume changes. Enjoy!

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Inspired Nail Polish #PSLThis year, I found myself anxiously awaiting Fall and now it’s here! Don’t get me wrong, summer is great, but who doesn’t enjoy hay rides, lightweight sweaters, beautiful foliage, and pumpkin spice everything?

There’s something about the crisp air that makes this season easy to love. My nail polish color was inspired by all things Fall–including Starbucks’ famous Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Jane is Back!

August 20, 2013 By ARMOURELLE

Jane Cosmetics end capOur junior high bestie is back! I noticed this display in my local Ulta today and was filled with joyous nostalgia! Please tell me you remember Jane with her super tiny foundation samples and teen-friendly eyeshadow shades.

Every week after school, I’d go to Target and sit down infront of the aisle endcap, staring at the colorful products. I’d memorize what shades to buy when I was allowed to wear makeup. I’d also collect their on-trend pamphlets, that were almost like little tri-fold magazines. Those ultra cool pamphlets showed me how to apply makeup, how to be a good friend and most importantly, how to be good to myself.

I still remember their cute acronym MMM, short for Meet Me at the Mall. Which taught us how to master a chic, five-minute face for times when we absolutely had to get to the mall. You know, for clothes and cutie shopping.

Ah, welcome back, Jane. Pretty sure you’ll be just a cool as you were in the 90s. The new BFF for junior high and middle schoolers.

Here’s an LA Times feature about owner and mogul Lynn Tilton.
