Ricky’s NYC unveiled the newest salon edition to their Broadway location. I happened to stumble upon this gem of an event celebrating the opening of Tish & Snooky’s Manic Panic Color Asylum at Revolver Salon. I. Was. PUMPED. I’ve been a fan of Manic Panic since I was a teen. I remember the only way my mom was able to get my to do my geometry homework was to dangle the the reward of getting the shade Pillarbox Red by Manic Panic in front of me. Let me tell you my homework was done in less than an hour.
Back to the event, though. I was on my way to work on a freelance assignment at a coffee shop next door, when I saw the signs in the window and heard the music. Deadline looming in the background, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see what Tish and Snooky of Manic Panic and Ricky’s NYC had cooked up! So many beautiful heads wondurful colors. For some reason, I think faded hair color has more character–it’s been ‘lived in.’ You guys know I’m all for colorful hair (here, here, here and check my footwork in my Manic Panic wig from ’98 here). I was sad I could only breeze through and take a few pics, but take a look at the photos for proof of awesomeness.
