Decor Idea: Paint the Backs of Bookcases as Room Dividers

August 5, 2014 By ARMOURELLE

Decorating idea: Paint the backs of bookcases as dividers in a studio apartmentLiving in New York City doesn’t give me lots of space. Because of this, I’ve arranged and re-arranged the few furniture pieces in my small studio apartment at least seven times. I think I’ve finally come up with a layout that doesn’t make it seem like I’m trying to pretend like I don’t live in a studio and two doesn’t make me fall asleep upon entry. [Read more…]

Ricky’s NYC Haul! Fun and Cute Beauty Products

July 28, 2014 By ARMOURELLE

wpid-imag1656_1.jpgWhoop! It’s a mini haul from Ricky’s NYC. I love this place. Each time I pass one of the storefronts, I talk myself out of entering because I know going in ‘just to look around’ results in a purchase. This day was no different. Check out the beauty finds I walked away with after my most recent visit to Ricky’s NYC. Fun times!

Luster’s You Be-Natural Product Launch in NYC July 2014

I would be a liar if I said I didn’t love me some Luster’s Pink Oil! So when I got the opportunity to hang out at their launch event for the extension of their You Be-Natural line of products, I was totes excited.

The event was held at the Dream Hotel Downtown, which was a nice backdrop. Luster’s You Be-Natural Botanical Curl Stretch and Defining Treatment was the featured product of the night. According to hairstylist, ambassador and product developer, Kevin Pendleton, a.k.a. ‘K.P. the Texture Man,’ the You Be-Natural Botanical Curl Stretch and Defining Treatment alone doesn’t stretch and relax the curl, it’s the heat (if any) that is used in conjunction with the treatment. The treatment is made up of amino acides that bind to the hair restoring any protein loss due to color, as well as allowing moisture to better adhere to the hair shaft.

He added that the product bonds to the hair shaft, filling in any gaps. This means that wearers experience less frizzy because the hair isn’t “searching” for moisture in the hair and swelling (in other words, frizzing out like an electrocuted Cocker Spaniel)  because the hair shaft has been filled-in with moisture-blocking amino acids. Frizz free summers? Sounds good to me.
